Massage Marketing Tips for Male Therapists
Turn it to Your Advantage

You got into massage because you love it, so use these massage marketing tips for male therapists to achieve success in your practice.

Because it's true, men face a little bit more difficulty in this business. There is a group of men and women who prefer not to receive massage from you.

We could talk in depth about why this may be happening, but it really does not matter. Because getting caught up in the problem, is a worse problem. If you utilize being a male in this industry as an excuse not to achieve your goals, you will just be giving away your power.

Instead of focusing your thoughts and energy on those people who you believe are discriminating against you, focus your energy on the target market of those that do want your massage.

And don't limit your target market by assuming for people that they don't want to receive massage from a man. Never assume for people.

This next point is very important, but maybe hard to understand. A potential client may have a slight reservation about getting a massage from a male. But they would do it without any problem if everything feels professional and good. But so many male therapists are not professional, and this gives potential clients an excuse to use their initial reservation about receiving massage from a man. So the real reason the client did not schedule was because of a lack of professionalism. And you can do something about that.

Let's get to work on these massage marketing tips for male therapists, and make sure you are getting as much work as you deserve.

Massage Marketing Tips for Male Therapists #1

Utilize being male in this industry as an advantage. Make this your attitude. It is already an advantage because if you have it in your mind that you will have problems as a male, you will work harder, you will commit yourself more, and you will develop the determination that nothing is going to stop you. That will make a huge difference.

It is an advantage because you will become more aware of your client's preferences and desires, and will be much more careful about how you interact with clients at every step. You will provide better service than most therapists out there because of this, and your clients will recognize these benefits and strongly recommend you.

Several of the tips below will show you how to use being a male as a marketing advantage.

Massage Marketing Tips for Male Therapists #2

Don't lose any existing or potential clients for the reasons that other therapists do. First, be impeccably professional, in how you interact, your office space, your dress, everything. Don't be a “flaky” massage therapist. Because you cannot afford to. Keep in regular contact with your clients with your newsletter. Do special things for them. Create real connections and friendships with them. Make sure you have the best referral system possible, because it is your current clients who will talk you up and be your best marketing advocates.

And above all, be the best damned therapist you can be, at everything that makes a therapist great. You listen well. You care. You don't talk about your problems. You provide the type of massage they want, and you get results.

Plus you need to constantly learn. Many of the most successful male therapists I know are masters in their field. They are specialized and respected. They are often the people that other therapists send their clients to for issues they cannot address.
